To support Kraken Rum’s Halloween campaign, Out of Sync produced a cinematic brand film capturing the atmosphere of Screamfest, a live horror experience inspired by the dark mythology of the Kraken.
The goal was to translate the immersive environment of the event into a visually striking campaign film that could extend the reach of the experience beyond the venue and onto digital platforms.
Screamfest is designed as a fully immersive horror experience built around the Kraken brand world. The film needed to capture the scale, energy and theatricality of the event while creating a piece of content strong enough to work as a standalone campaign asset. The challenge was balancing cinematic visuals with the unpredictable nature of a live experience, capturing moments as they unfolded while maintaining a strong visual identity.
The production focused on creating a dark, cinematic tone that matched the brand’s aesthetic. Low-light cinematography, dramatic lighting and dynamic camera movement were used to emphasise the immersive environment and the intensity of the experience. Rather than documenting the event, the film was crafted as a short atmospheric campaign piece, placing the viewer inside the world of the Kraken.
Filming took place within the venue while it was closed to the public, giving the production team full control over the visual environment. Custom lighting setups were used throughout the space to create a dark, atmospheric look that echoed the theatrical world of the Kraken brand.
The final film formed part of Kraken Rum’s Halloween campaign, extending the reach of the Screamfest experience across digital channels and social media. By capturing the event atmosphere cinematically, the film translated a physical brand activation into a compelling campaign asset.
The aim was to create a film that felt immersive, atmospheric and unmistakably tied to the Kraken brand world.
